Sizing a container for construction debris
Most residential remodels run a 20 yard for the rough debris (drywall, flooring, framing scrap) and a separate 10 yard for clean concrete from any slab or tile work. Whole-house demolitions usually need a 30 or 40 yard, sometimes two swap-outs. Roofing tear-offs are deceptively heavy — a 15-square shingle job fits a 10 yard, but 30+ squares needs a 20.
Mixed C&D loads vs. clean loads
Clean loads (concrete only, dirt only, wood only) get cheaper disposal because the transfer station can route them straight to recycling. Mixed C&D loads cost more per ton but are easier on the job — you don't have to separate. We'll tell you when it's worth keeping a second container vs. paying mixed rates.
Job-site delivery
We deliver to active construction sites across San Diego, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Escondido, Carlsbad, Oceanside, and everywhere in between. Tell us where you want the container set, where the gate is, and whether you need a swap on a specific day — we work around your schedule, not ours.
FAQ
- What size container do I need for a kitchen remodel?
- Most kitchen remodels fit a 20 yard. If you're also pulling tile or a slab, add a 10 yard for the heavy material so you don't overweight a single container.
- Can I rent multiple containers and swap them out?
- Yes. Multi-week projects commonly run 2-4 swap-outs. Call when you're ready — we usually swap same-day or next-day.
- Do you deliver to active construction sites?
- Every day. We work with GCs, framers, roofers, flooring crews, and demo teams across all of San Diego County. We'll coordinate with your superintendent on placement.
- What's the price for a construction container?
- Starts at $699 for a 10 yard with 1 ton included. 20, 30, and 40 yard pricing depends on zip and debris type. Heavy material and overage tonnage are billed at the transfer station rate.
