Do I need a City of San Diego permit to place a dumpster on the street?
Yes. Anything sitting in the public right-of-way inside City of San Diego limits requires an Encroachment Removal Permit from the Development Services Department. Driveways and private property never need a permit — over 90% of our San Diego drops go on-driveway, so most customers skip the paperwork entirely. If you do need street placement, we'll tell you the exact permit path before we deliver.
How much are Miramar Landfill tipping fees, and how do they affect my price?
The Miramar Landfill (5180 Convoy St) currently charges $57 per ton for mixed C&D and MSW, with a one-ton minimum, plus separate rates for clean concrete, dirt, greenwaste and tires. Your quote already bakes in the Miramar disposal cost for standard loads — you're not surprised at pickup. Overweight, hazardous or specialty loads (like a bin full of dirt in a 20-yarder) are the exceptions we walk through up front.
What are typical delivery windows inside the City of San Diego?
Book by noon and we deliver same-day to central San Diego — North Park, Hillcrest, Point Loma, Clairemont, Mission Valley and the beaches usually see us within 2–4 hours. North of the 52 (Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Peñasquitos) and the eastern communities (Del Cerro, San Carlos, Allied Gardens) run 3–5 hours same-day, or first slot next morning if you book after 2pm.
Can you deliver into La Jolla, PB or OB with tight streets and low branches?
Yes — most of our San Diego routes are coastal. Our 10, 15 and 20-yard bins fit standard driveways in Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach and the La Jolla village core. For 30 or 40-yard bins in tight coastal alleys we'll do a quick photo pre-check with you before dispatching the truck.
How long can I keep a dumpster in San Diego?
Standard rental is 7 days included, and extensions are quoted up front when you book. On-street placements are limited by the terms of your City encroachment permit — we'll match the rental length to your permit window automatically.
Do you take concrete, dirt or heavy material in San Diego?
Yes, but heavy materials (concrete, dirt, asphalt, tile) run on a dedicated flat-rate 10-yard bin so the truck stays under DOT weight limits on San Diego's hillside streets. Ask for the heavy-material rate when you call.
