Wood Disposal
Near You.
Got a pile of lumber, pallets, fencing, framing scrap, or yard-tree wood? Heverly & Sons rents 10, 20, 30, and 40 yard roll-off dumpsters across San Diego County built for clean wood disposal — and we route every clean wood load to a recycling facility where it's chipped into mulch or biomass fuel instead of landfilled.
- Clean wood loads get recycled — not landfilled
- 10-40 yard bins for pallets, lumber, fencing, framing, tree wood
- Starting at $699 with 1 ton included
- Same-day or next-day drop in most San Diego zips
- Honest weight slips from the transfer station
- We tell you how to keep the load 'clean' for the lowest disposal rate
What counts as 'clean wood'?
Clean wood = untreated, unpainted lumber, pallets, framing scrap, plywood, OSB, and yard-tree wood with no metal hardware mixed in. Treated wood (pressure-treated, painted, stained, or with hardware) still goes in the dumpster, but it's billed as mixed C&D because it can't be recycled the same way. We'll tell you up front which pile you have.
Wood disposal options in San Diego
1) Roll-off dumpster — best when you have more than half a pickup load, or you don't want to make multiple trips. 2) Free yard-waste curbside (city programs) — works for small green-waste piles, not lumber. 3) Drop-off at Miramar or Sycamore landfill — slow, dirty, and you still pay tipping fees. For framing crews, fencing demo, or tree work, a roll-off is almost always the cheapest and fastest.
Pallet & fencing disposal
Old fencing and pallets are the most common wood loads we haul. A 10 yard holds about 40 standard pallets or roughly 80 linear feet of demo'd 6 ft wood fence. A 20 yard doubles that. If the fencing has concrete footings attached, those are heavy — let us know so we can size correctly.
FAQ
- Where can I dump wood in San Diego?
- You can drop it at Miramar Landfill or Sycamore Landfill yourself, or rent a roll-off and we haul it for you. For anything more than a pickup load, the roll-off is faster and usually cheaper once you count fuel and tipping fees.
- Is wood disposal cheaper if I separate it?
- Yes. A clean wood-only load gets recycled at a lower rate than mixed C&D. If you can keep wood out of the trash debris pile, you'll pay less per ton.
- Can I put painted or treated wood in the dumpster?
- Yes — it just gets billed as mixed C&D instead of clean wood. We'll still take it; the recycling discount just doesn't apply.
- How much does wood disposal cost?
- Starts at $699 for a 10 yard with 1 ton included. Clean wood loads are usually our cheapest disposal category. Final price depends on weight and zip code.
